Austin Peay's Williams departs program

(STATS) - Austin Peay defensive end Jaison Williams announced Wednesday he won't play his senior season with the Governors.

The two-time All-Ohio Valley Conference first-team selection did not specify a reason in a post on Twitter. He thanked the school, adding, "AP has helped not only to become an All-American but become a better man!"

The 6-foot-1, 225-pound Williams was a nominee for the STATS FCS Buck Buchanan Award each of the last two seasons. The Buchanan honors the FCS defensive player of the year.
